Melanie Stevens is an Atlanta-based painter, writer and illustrator. She graduated from Yale University with a BA in Political Science in 2001, which she utilizes in the subtle and nuanced social commentaries within her work. She is the creator of the semi-autobiographical web comic, Black Picket Fences, which ran from 2010-2014. Currently, she resides in Portland, Oregon, where she is studying at the Pacific Northwest College of Art for her MFA degree.
